Welcome To Westwood Hills

Our Church Vision: Love God–Love People

Our Church Mission: To draw people who are far from God near to God

We are a church community of Christ Followers on the West Side who are genuine in our faith, our struggles, and our hope. Whether you have been a follower of Christ for a long time or are still asking questions, we invite you to explore and journey with us.

Encounter-Sunday 9am

9:00am-Encounter

This is a time for deeper study and contemplation as we journey together into a more intimate relationship with Christ.
Service-Sunday 10:15 AM

10:15am-Service We meet in the Sanctuary for a time of worship, fellowship, communion and study as we celebrate what God is doing in our lives. Invite a friend! Our current message series is “Empire”.

Sept. 8: We kick off our new series “Empire: Life in the First Century”. What was the culture and the challenges that faced the early church in the book of Acts? Find out as we unpack a rich portrait of God’s “Plan A” to save humanity. This week: “The Beginning”-How did the Lord move in those first days and weeks after Jesus ascended to heaven?

Sept. 15: “The Opposition”: How did the religious establishment of the day come against the church? What was the response?

Sept. 22: “The Conversion”: Besides Jesus, Paul was the most influential of the early Christian leaders and pastors, responsible for a large portion of the New Testamant. Why was he so controversial, and why is that still the case?

Sept. 29: “The Roundtable”: How did Christianity engage with other faith systems, especially Judaism?

Don’t miss these relevant messages that will give us all hope and confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ!

  • God:  God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

  • Jesus Christ: Jesus is the Son of God.  Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life, and, by dying on a cross, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of humankind.  God raised him from the dead after three days.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to judge the hearts of all (Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 2:36; Isaiah 9:6).

  • The Holy Spirit:  The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian and provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right (Galatians 4:6; John 16:7-14).

  • Humankind:  Each person is an eternal being made in the image of God and is the supreme object for God’s creation.  Although everyone has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin.”  This attitude separates us from God (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Romans 3:23).

  • The Bible:  The Bible is God’s Word to all.  It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error (2 Timothy 3:16).  Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent.

  • Salvation:  Salvation is a gift from God to all.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38).

  • Eternity:  We were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence (John 3:16; Romans 6:23).
