Welcome To Westwood Hills

We are a community of Christ Followers on the West Side who are genuine in our faith, our struggles, and our hope. Whether you have been a follower of Christ for a long time or are still asking questions, we invite you to explore and journey with us.
Encounter-Sunday 9am

9:00am-Encounter

This is a time for deeper study and contemplation as we journey together into a more intimate relationship with Christ. Our current series is a talk on “living a missional life”. What does it mean to be a Fully Devoted Follower? In October,  we will begin our study of the Book of Revelation. Donuts and coffee are always provided.
Service-Sunday 10:15 AM

10:15am-Service We meet in the Sanctuary for a time of worship, fellowship, communion and study as we celebrate what God is doing in our lives. Invite a friend! We will be going through individual “Summer Stories” through August.

Sept 16: “The Church’s Got Talent” We all have gifts, but many times we just keep them hidden in a box. God calls us to use our gifts (James 1:17) and be a servant while doing so. What does it mean to “go all in” with our talents? How can God use YOU at WHCC and beyond?

Sept. 23: “Show Me the Money”: It seems like everytime someone decides to visit a church, they come on a Sunday where the topic is money. The Bible mentions money and giving more than most subjects. But giving is more than finances. This week we wrap up our series discussing Generosity. What does the Bible say about every Follower having a generous spirit and living for others? Don’t miss this! It’s not about putting coins and bills in the offering plate. It’s about living in the way God calls us to live.

Sept 30: Invite ytour friends as Dr Hugh Ross from Reasons to Believe shares about Faith and Science at 10:15, followed by a Q&A time after the service. Find out about Dr. Ross and his organization here

  • God:  God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

  • Jesus Christ: Jesus is the Son of God.  Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life, and, by dying on a cross, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of humankind.  God raised him from the dead after three days.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to judge the hearts of all (Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 2:36; Isaiah 9:6).

  • The Holy Spirit:  The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian and provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right (Galatians 4:6; John 16:7-14).

  • Humankind:  Each person is an eternal being made in the image of God and is the supreme object for God’s creation.  Although everyone has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin.”  This attitude separates us from God (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Romans 3:23).

  • The Bible:  The Bible is God’s Word to all.  It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error (2 Timothy 3:16).  Where the Bible speaks, we speak; where the Bible is silent, we are silent.

  • Salvation:  Salvation is a gift from God to all.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38).

  • Eternity:  We were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence (John 3:16; Romans 6:23).
